E-Commerce Law Briefs: Week of February 12, 2007

"A judge has dismissed a lawsuit against the social networking Web site MySpace filed by the family of a 13-year-old girl who says she was sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old man she met online." In dismissing the suit, the court relied upon the Communications Decency Act which "generally grants immunity to interactive computer services such as MySpace so that they are not liable for content posted by users."
