E-Commerce Law Briefs: Week of February 26, 2007

A second grader has declined a law firm’s interview offer. By mistake, the law firm sent the eight year old an email indicating a willingness to meet with him to discuss a law clerk position. The boy, perhaps with help from his attorney father, declined.

In a suit filed with the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, a woman seeks to recover $20 million against Yahoo for using her photograph without permission. The plaintiff alleges that the photograph appeared in e-mails sent to new users of Yahoo Mail and that Yahoo's conduct violated her rights to privacy and publicity.
